(Sioux City)– A Spencer man has been sentenced in federal court to more than nine years in prison on meth charges.
24-year-old William Dirks pleaded guilty previously to conspiracy to manufacture and distribute more than three quarters of-a-pound of methamphetamine within a thousand feet of the Spencer Middle School from January 2001 through March 2003.
In a plea agreement, Dirks admitted he participated in the distribution of nearly 14 ounces of methamphetamine mixture and manufactured atleast four grams of pure meth.
Dirks also admitted that he and others agreed to manufacture pure methamphetamine at Travis Woods’ residence at 119 East First Street in Spencer, which is within a thousand feet of the Spencer Middle School.
Dirks is being held in the U-S Marshalls custody until he can be transferred to a federal prison.
