Man Wanted In Several Counties For Bogus Checks Arrested In Dickinson Co.

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– A man wanted in several northwest Iowa counties for writing bad checks has been arrested in Dickinson county.

Sheriff Greg Baloun says a deputy arrested Todd C. Elliott, also known as “Chuck” Elliott, last Friday south of Lake Park. Elliott lists several home addresses, including places in Arnolds Park, Milford and Webster City, among others.

Elliott was wanted on arrest warrants out of Palo Alto and Clay counties and was also wanted by authorities in South Dakota, Ohio and Nebraska.

Elliott was wanted on one count of first degree theft out of Palo Alto county with a 10-thousand dollar bond; and one count of first degree theft…also out of Palo Alto county…with a bond of 13-thousand dollars.

He was wanted in Clay county for second degree theft with a bond of 9,250-dollars; and forgery with a bond of 9,750-dollars.

Baloun says additional charges are pending against Elliott in other Iowa counties as well.

Baloun says Elliott allegedly wrote bad checks on closed accounts to purchase things such as automobiles, four-wheelers, waverunners and other recreational items, which he would re-sell.

Baloun says anyone who purchased anything from Elliott should contact their local law enforcement agency.
