(Spencer)– Nearly 13 acres of land along the Spencer Municipal Golf Course is a step closer to becoming 30 single-family homes.
The Spencer City Council Monday voted unanimously to direct city staff to prepare a development agreement for the sale of 12.88 acres of land to Metro Venture, Inc. of Spirit Lake.
Earlier this year, the city sent proposals to seven area developers to construct 30 single family homes on land adjacent to the golf course. The lone proposal came from August Scheppmann, President of Metro Venture, Inc.
City Attorney Don Hemphill says the proposal still has to go through a hearing process, providing ample opportunity for the council and public to express their thoughts and concerns.
A date for a public hearing hasn’t been set yet.
