(Fairmont, Mn.)– The discovery of more than 500 pounds of pot in the Fairmont, Minnesota area has resulted in the arrests of seven people.
Agents with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and members of the Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force located and seized 568 pounds of marijuana from a hidden compartment on a tractor trailer.
Authorities say the search, conducted around 12:40 a.m. Friday, was part of an ongoing investigation into the distribution of a large amount of marijuana.
Arrested were Jose Angel Rios, Alberico Gerardo Martinez, Francisco Javier Flores, Daniel Gonzales, Ceasar Castro Higuera, Matias Eduardo Solis-Guerra, and Raul Moreno Miramontes.
All seven were charged with first degree controlled substance violations and conspiracy to commit controlled substance violations.
