Lakes Community Leaders To Be Honored For Boyscouts Contributions

November 22, 2014

(Okoboji)– Some lakes area community leaders will be honored Saturday for their contributions to Boy Scouts.

Berkely Bedell, a 30-year scouting volunteer and founder of Berkley and company (now Pure Fishing); and Herman Richter, a 15-year scouting volunteer and owner of the Three Sons, will receive the prestigious “Silver Beaver” award. It’s the highest recognition a volunteer can receive from the Mid-America Boy Scout Council.

The “Spirit of Youth” award will be presented to Bud Pearson, owner of Pearson Livestock Equipment Company and Brooks Golf Club. Pearson will be recognized for his contributions to young people, the community and other organizations throughout the midwest.

The honors will be bestowed upon the three men in a ceremony at the Inn in Okoboji Saturday (6/19) from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
