(Okoboji)– Officials are trying to figure out what it was that killed some canadian east on East Lake Okoboji.
D-N-R officials say 20 young canadian geese were found dead earlier this week on the shoreline near Chalstrom Beach on East Lake Okoboji.
Officials have recovered the remains, which are being sent to the National Wildlife Health Lab in Madison, Wisconsin for testing. They hope to have the results back next week.
Officials aren’t speculating on a probable cause. They do say it’s unusual to have that many geese die in the same area.
