Sioux City Man Sentenced For Leaving Porn In Men’s Locker Room At Smith Wellness Center

November 22, 2014

(Emmetsburg)– A Sioux City man has been sentenced in Palo Alto County District Court for leaving pornographic material in the men’s locker room of the Smith Wellness Center in Emmetsburg.

It stems from January, 2002 when Emmetsburg police began an investigation into the dissemination of obscene images left in the men’s locker room at the Smith Wellness Center where minors were exposed to them.

On Tuesday, 56-year-old Bruce LeFebvre pleaded guilty to disseminating obscenity to minors…a serious misdemeanor. He was sentenced to one year in jail, which was suspended. He was ordered to serve one year of probation and must participate in a sexual offender program at a treatment facility in Sioux City. LeFebvre will be placed on the state’s sex offender registry for the next 10 years.

A central part of his sentencing requires LeFabvre to have no further contact with children whatsoever. He is also prohibited from having access to computers or the internet.

Emmetsburg Police Chief Eric Hanson says he is grateful for the assistance and cooperation his department received from the alert staff at the Smith Wellness Center. He is also especially appreciative of the lab experts at the FBI Omaha office who reconstructed the photographic evidence from the computer used by LeFebvre when he lived in Mallard.
