(Spencer)– Authorities in Spencer are investigating a report of counterfeit money that turned up this week at a local bank.
On Tuesday Farmer’s Bank reported they received a counterfeit 10 dollar bill through a deposit bag from a local business. The bill has been verified as a fake by the US Secret Service.
Police Chief Mike Lashbrook says there is no way to track the fake bill. He reminds business owners to be aware of counterfeit money and make sure all money they receive looks and feels like the real thing.
