(Estherville)– Lyle Hevern is resigning as Director of the Estherville Chamber of Commerce after 17 years at the helm.
His resignation was effective August 1st.
Hevern says he decided to get involved in something different. He’s going into sales with Global Equipment and Manufacturing Company…a subsidiary of Christensen Construction and Design Company of Estherville.
Hevern says he’ll be establishing some dealer networks for the company, which manufatures ag-related buildings.
Hevern looks back on his 17 years of work as Chamber Director with a sense of pride. He says the transformation they were able to make since the closing of Morrell’s was phenomenol. Hevern says the city’s program of building spec buildings for economic development has been and continues to be a huge success in bringing new industries to the city and helping existing ones to expand.
Even though he’s stepping down as Chamber Director, Hevern says he’ll stay on as Estherville’s Mayor.
