(Okoboji)– Some preventive maintenance will be done next week on a heavily travelled street in Okoboji.
City Administrator Dennis Daly says weather permitting, crews will be chip sealing Lakeshore Drive Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (Aug. 9th, 10th & 11th). The work will be done on the full length of the street between Smith’s Mobile Homes all the way to the city’s north side.
Daly says motorists can expect delays. He’s urging them to use extreme caution when driving through fresh tar, and not to spin their tires in the fresh tar and pea rock.
Daly says chip sealing will extend the life of the existing pavement. Without it, he says, the street would have to be torn up and replaced much sooner.
