(Superior)– One person was injured in a two-vehicle collision this (Thurs.) morning near Superior.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 29-year-old Rachel Mathias of Jackson, Minnesota was eastbound on Highways 9 and 71 and slowed for a D-O-T truck that was parked along the shoulder with its warning lights on. Authorities say 68-year-old Bonnie Eternicka of Rhinelander, Wisconsin was following the Mathias vehicle and was unable to stop, rearending Mathias.
Eternicka was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with unknown injuries. No injuries were reported to Mathias.
Five thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2004 Buick driven by Eternicka. Damage to a 1988 Buick driven by Mathias was estimated at a thousand dollars.
Eternicka was charged with following too closely.
The mishap took place shortly after 8:00 a.m. three miles west of Superior on Highways nine and 71 at 290th Avenue.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spirit Lake Police Department, Superior Rescue and the Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance.
