(Spencer)– Two Wisconsin residents are in the Clay county jail after a search of their hotel room turned illegal drugs and cash.
Spencer police received a tip over the phone about a couple from Wisconsin staying in Spencer. From the call, police initiated an investigation that lead to a Spencer hotel room where the two were staying. Officers set up surveillance on the room and were able to obtain a search warrant.
The Police Department’s Special Entry Response Team was called out to help with the search due to the couple’s criminal history and the possibility of weapons being present.
The couple–33-year-old Marvin Robinson and 32-year0ld Arnessa Collins, both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, were detained without incident and a search of their room turned up cocaine, marijuana, paraphernalia and cash.
Both have been arrested and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver…a class “C” felony; and possession of marijuana…a serious misdemeanor.
Both were booked into the Clay county jail on bond of nearly 67-thousand dollars each.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Clay County Attorney’s Office and Spencer Hospital assisted in the investigation.
