Rock Rapids Man Escapes Injury In Semi Rollover

November 22, 2014

(Dickens)– Friday’s severe weather is to blame for a semi-rollover near Dickens.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 34-year-old Brian Baker of Rock Rapids was westbound on Highway 18 just east of Dickens at about 2:00 p.m. Friday. He told deputies he lost control of the semi during the heavy rains and wind. The semi jack-knifed and went into the south ditch.

The crash closed Highway 18 for about two and-a-half hours, while crews worked to remove the truck from the ditch.

No injuries were reported.

The truck, owned by McCormick Transport of Rock Rapids, sustained five thousand dollars in damage.
