Spencer Search Lands 3 In Jail On Drug Charges

(Spencer)– Details are now being released about a search of a Spencer residence earlier this month that has led to the arrests of three residents on multiple drug charges.

On September 7th Clay county deputies executed a search warrant at 810 4th Avenue Southeast in Spencer. During the search officers found large quantities of methamphetamine, marijuana, hashish and multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia.

The occupants of the home, 48-year-old David Hovland, 37-year-old Kimberly Hovland and 21-year-old Travis Booth were arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine…a serious misdemeanor; possession of marijuana with intent to deliver…a class “D” felony; gathering at a place where illegal drugs are used or sold…a class “D” felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor.

All three were booked into the Clay county jail with bonds set at 84,500-dollars.

Authorities say their investigation continues and more arrests are expected.
