(Spirit Lake)– This past Saturday’s Memory Walk in Spirit Lake…a benefit for the Alzheimer’s Association…is being described as a huge success.
Brooke Simmons, a spokes person for the association, tells KUOO news the event raised more than 21-thousand dollars.
Simmons says the proceeds will match a federal grant they were recently awarded to establish a “First Contact” volunteer outreach and response network.
She says the money will also help with a number of services the Alzheimer’s Association provides to patients and their families in Clay, Dickinson, Emmet and Palo Alto counties.
