Some Dickinson County Residents Eligible To Receive Free Weather Radios

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Residents living in the unincorporated areas of Dickinson county and in the cities of Okoboji and Terril are eligible to receive weather radios free of charge.

Dickinson County Emergency Management Coordinator Mike Ehret tells KUOO news the program is made possible through a grant that was awarded as the result of a hazard mitigation plan put together by the two cities and county.

Ehret says people living in the previously mentioned areas interested in getting a weather radio should contact him at 336-3987 by 4:30 p.m. Friday, October 15th.

Ehret says he has only a limited number of radios available. He says if demand exceeds supply, drawings will be held to determine who gets a radio.
