(Spirit Lake)– A segment of Hill Avenue South near the Spirit Lake High School will re-open to traffic October 15th.
The 28th street intersection will reopen a week later–Friday, October 22nd.
A representative of the general contractor on the project made that announcement this (Wed.) morning at a weekly construction update, after being pressed for exact dates by a representative from the Spirit Lake Community Schools.
No firm date was given as to when Hill Avenue north of 25th Street will be reopened, but officials say it will probably be around November 5th…at the earliest.
The entire project was originally scheduled for completion by October 9th.
Subcontractors are responsible for just about all of the work that remains to be done. Things like top soiling; installing irrigation systems; construction of monuments; putting up street lights and traffic signals; and installation of pavers…along with general clean-up and landscaping.
The Hill Avenue South project has been going on since late March.
