Worthington Man Charged In Highway 86 Crash

(Spirit Lake)– Charges have been filed against a Worthington, Minnesota man in connection with a one-vehicle crash that occurred around 6:16 this (Thurs.) morning on Highway 86 at the Iowa/Minnesota border.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 33-year-old Alvin Gomez of Worthington lost control of a 1998 Ford mini-van when he missed a curve at the former Rudy’s steakhouse.

Gomez was charged for not having a driver’s license; no insurance and failure to have control.

No injuries were reported to Gomez and a passenger, 23-year-old Joan Sanchez of Worthington.

Two thousand dollars in damage was estimated to the mini-van.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Spirit Lake Police Department, Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and the Lakefield Fire Department and ambulance.
