SL Council Authorizes Studies On Drainage Trouble Spots

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– The Spirit Lake city council Tuesday awarded engineering studies on a couple of drainage trouble spots in the city. Both proposals were awarded to Beck Engineering of Spirit Lake.

One study will be focused on the area of 28th Street and Lincoln Avenue and between 28th and 29th Streets from Hill to Lincoln Avenue. The cost of that study will be 7,340-dollars. The other study is in the area of Hudson Avenue and 15th Street. It has a cost of 13,500-dollars.

The council also approved architectural standards for the Kentucky Fried Chicken/Long John Silvers building to be located on Highway 71 south; and they delayed action on architectural standards for an eight-unit motel to be built just south of Kabel’s Trading Post on Hill Avenue North.
