(Undated)– Polaris Industries says it’s third quarter sales fell by 53 percent…including a 23.9 million dollar loss that resulted from the company closing out its marine products division.
For the quarter ended September 30th, Polaris reports earnings of 18.6 million dollars or 42 cents a share on revenue of 510.6 million dollars. For the same period a year ago the company posted earnings of 39.5 million or 87 cents a share on revenue of 444.4 million.
Not all the news was gloomy, though. Continuing operations rose eight percent to a dollar a share…bolstered by higher sales of all-terrain-vehicles and Victory motorcycles.
Polaris said all-terrain-vehicle sales increased 18 percent in the quarter, buoyed by the introduction of a new product line and incentives related to the company’s 50th anniversary.
Sales of Victory motorcycles more than doubled to 11.1 million dollars from 4.9 million in last year’s third quarter.
