(Lester)– A one-vehicle crash in Lyon county has claimed the life of a Hills, Minnesota man.
The Sheriff’s Office identifies the victim as 21-year-old James Metzger, Junior of Hills, Minnesota.
Authorities say Metzger lost control of a pickup he was driving on a county road just south of the Minnesota border at about 2:20 Sunday morning. The vehicle left the road, struck a mailbox, then went into the east ditch where it hit some guy wires on a utility pole, breaking the pole off. The vehicle flipped, coming to rest upright on its wheels.
The crash knocked out power to Lester until about 10:00 a.m. Sunday.
Metzger was pronounced dead at the scene.
