Drug Investigation Results In Charges Against 3 Spencer Women

(Spencer)– Spencer police have arrested three people on various drug charges as part of an on-going drug investigation.

Officers searched two apartments Tuesday at 511 East 19th Street in Spencer. They turned up several pieces of drug paraphernalia, multiple baggies of marijuana and cash proceeds from the sale of marijuana.

Officers arrested 37-year-old Carmen Louise Matthews and charged her with hosting gatherings where controlled substances are used…a class “D” felony; possession of drug paraphernalia; and child endangerment. Matthews was booked into the Clay county jail on bond of 16,575-dollars.

18-year-old Christy Matthews and 19-year-old Phedra Henderson were arrested and charged with delivery of a controlled substance…a class “D” felony; possession of a controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were booked into the Clay county jail on bond of 12-thousand dollars each.

Authorities say their investigation is ongoing and more arrests are likely.
