(Fostoria)– Four people were taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Clay county Monday morning.
It took place around 11:10 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 71 and County Road B-14.
The Iowa State Patrol says 69-year-old Leonard Trick of Emmetsburg failed to stop at a stopsign while crossing the highway and crashed into a northbound Jeep driven by 47-year-old Ronald Eick of Terril.
Both drivers and their passengers, 34-year-old Richard Summers of Emmetsburg and 47-year-old Theresa Eick of Terril were taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital.
Both vehicles were totaled.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Fostoria Fire and Rescue and Spencer Ambulance assisted on the scene.
