(Spirit Lake)– No injuries were reported this (Monday) afternoon when a car collided with a train in Spirit Lake.
Police say 64-year-old Larry Sorensen of Fenton was southbound on Peoria Avenue when he collided with an eastbound Iowa Northwestern train being operated by 56-year-old Steven Zimmerman of Milford.
No injuries were reported to Sorensen or Zimmerman.
Five thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 1992 Oldsmobile driven by Sorensen. No damage was reported to the train.
The mishap took place shortly after 1:00 p.m.
