American Education Week Observed This Week

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Everyone is urged to take some time out during this, American Education Week, to thank those involved in educating our young people.

Chuck Rizutti, a retired teacher from the Spirit Lake Community Schools, says it’s important to remember that education is truly a team effort–involving many more than students, teachers and parents.

Rizzuti says American Education Week is a perfect time to take a few minutes to say thank you to those folks. He says it could come in the form of a simple note, phone call, e-mail or a personal visit.

Rizzuti, a former teacher himself, says getting such a message is truly motivating.

The theme for this year’s observance of American Education Week is “Celebrating the American Dream”.
