(Spencer)– An accident involving a car and a dump truck Wednesday morning in Clay county sent two people to the hospital.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 34-year-old Arthur Ayres of Estherville was driving a dump truck owned by Beck Excavating of Spirit Lake and 27-year-old Danielle Hill of Spencer was driving a 1995 Ford. The two collided in the intersection of county roads M-50 and B-24 on the northeast edge of Spencer.
Hill and a passenger in her vehicle, one-year-old Kylee Hill, were taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital. No injuries were reported to Ayres.
The Sheriff’s Office says Ayres was southbound on County Road M50 and had stopped for a stop sign when he pulled into the path of the vehicle driven by Hill.
Ayres was charged with failure to yield after a stop.
Four hundred dollars in damage was estimated to the dump truck driven by Ayres; the vehicle driven by Hill sustained an estimated eight thousand dollars in damage.
The mishap took place shortly before 7:30 a.m.
