(Spirit Lake)– South Hill Avenue in Spirit Lake officially re-opened to through traffic today (Tues.), although motorists had been driving around the barricades for weeks already.
Barricades on side streets abutting Hill Avenue and on the north and south sides of the project came down this (Tues.) afternoon.
Even then, the project still isn’t complete. Public Works Director Todd Dolphin says some finishing touches remain. He says crews will still be doing some work as weather allows yet this fall and next spring. Motorists are asked to use extra caution when workers are present.
South Hill Avenue, which has been under construction since last March, was originally slated for completion back on October 9th.
