Dickinson Supervisors Review Trigg’s (Hinshaw) Bridge Plans

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors Tuesday reviewed plans to replace the Triggs (Hinshaw) Bridge in Arnolds Park.

A bidletting on the project is set for June 21st, 2005 with construction to take place during the winter of 2005-2006.

County Engineer Dan Eckert told the board the plans have been revised from an arch design to a slab. A five foot-wide sidewalk will be constructed on each side.

The supervisors stopped short of officially signing off on the plans Tuesday. They want to make sure the traveled portion of the new bridge will be wider than what is on the existing bridge. They deferred action until Eckert can get a clarification on that.

The project will be done jointly with the city of Arnolds Park.

Plans for the new bridge had to be revised after Burns and Calhoun, the engineer on the project, discovered a problem with soil borings in the lake bed with the structure that was originally being proposed.
