(Hartley)– O’Brien county authorities say they’ve arrested four people in connection with a series of residential burglaries that took place over the Thanksgiving holiday in the Hartley and Sanborn areas.
23-year-old Jeffrey Kane of Sanborn was charged with two counts of burglary in the third degree and a felon in possession of firearms; 18-year-old Troy Werkmeister of Hartley was charged with two counts of burglary in the third degree; 19-year-old Zachary Barron of Spencer was charged with one count of burglary in the third degree; and a male juvenile was charged with one count of burglary in the third degree.
Kane remains in the O’Brien county jail; the others have been released.
Authorities say the arrests are the result of a joint investigation by the Hartley and Sanborn Police Departments and the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation continues and authorities say additional arrests or charges are possible.
