Sheldon Man Injured In Sioux Co. Hunting Accident

November 22, 2014

(Sheldon)– A Sheldon man was injured in a hunting accident this past weekend in Sioux county.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says 30-year-old Kevin Barnes was deer hunting when a deer ran across an open field between Barnes and a fellow hunter. The other hunter shot at the deer but missed. The slug instead hit Barnes in the left ankle.

He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

That was one of five hunting mishaps that took place throughout the state this past weekend.
