E’Ville Traffic Stop Results In OWI; Child Endangerment Charges

November 22, 2014

(Estherville)– A traffic stop this past Saturday evening has resulted in numerous charges being filed against an Estherville man.

Estherville police say they pulled over 32-year-old Raul Ramirez around 9:30 p.m. for a traffic violation. He was charged with improper use of registration and failure to have liability insurance.

The investigating officer also found an open container of alcohol, resulting in Ramirez being charged with operating while intoxicated.

Three children, ages 10, six and five, were also in the vehicle, resulting in three counts of child endangerment also being filed against Ramirez.

Officers also located government-issued documents that were in the name of another person. For that, he was charged with two counts of forgery for possessing false documentation. Each forgery count is a class “D” felony.

Ramirez was booked into the Emmet county jail on a nearly 50-thousand dollar bond.
