(Spirit Lake)– Motorists had to brush off their winter driving skills this (Thurs.) morning as frost and black ice made for a slick commute in some areas.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office investigated accidents that took place within minutes of each other on county road M-56 near Elinor Bedell State Park and on the Parks Marina curve on Stakeout Road south of Spirit Lake.
No serious injuries were reported in either mishap.
Authorities say the drivers simply lost control on the slick roads and went into the ditch.
City streets and secondary roads were affected the most.
Conditions improved by mid-morning as temperatures warmed above freezing.
