(Arnolds Park)– Excitement is mounting among those who like to play on the frozen Iowa Great Lakes.
The University of Okoboji Winter Games are now just weeks away…and final preparations are being made.
Michelle Hurd, Program Director for the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, reminds everyone the deadline for nominating cheerleaders for the upcoming Winter Games is January 7th. Hurd says this year’s cheerleaders will be voted on by the Winter Games Committee at its next meeting January 10th.
Hurd adds drop-off sites are again being organized for people looking to get rid of their natural Christmas trees. Semi trailers will once again be located at the fairgrounds in Spirit Lake and the city maintenanced building in Milford.
This year marks the 25th anniversary for the U of O Winter Games.
