(Spirit Lake)– Spirit Lake still does not have a Police Chief.
The appointment of officer Jeff Hanson as Chief was on the agenda for Tuesday evening’s city council meeting, but was tabled.
Mayor Eric Nielsen told KUOO news following the meeting that he wasn’t ready yet to recommend an appointment to the council. He declined to elaborate.
A citizen’s committee earlier this month recommended Hanson…a long-time officer with the Spirit Lake Police Department…be appointed the city’s next Police Chief.
The position has been vacant since last August when Jon Martyr resigned to become an officer with the Corvallis, Oregon Police Department.
