Jackson, Martin County Authorities Make Arrests In Recent Burglaries

November 22, 2014

(Jackson, Mn.)– The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Fairmont Police have made several arrests in connection with a recent rash of burglaries throughout the region.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says it executed a search warrant January 25th on a residence in Minneota Township that resulted in the discovery of items that had been stolen in recent thefts and burglaries. It also resulted in the arrest of 18-year-old William Spangler who was charged in connection with multiple thefts and burglaries. He’s being held in the Jackson county jail on a 30-thousand dollar bond.

Authorities say stolen property located at the Spangler residence led to a search warrant being executed on a residence in Fairmont by that city’s Police Department. It resulted in the arrests of 18-year-old Eric Christensen of Fairmont and a 17-year-old male juvenile from Truman. Christensen was booked into the Martin county jail on a 10-thousand dollar bond.

Authorities in Jackson county also arrested a 17-year-old male juvenile from Lakefield who was released to the custody of his parents.

Authorities say the search warrants and arrests resulted in them clearing up about 12 burglaries and thefts that took place in recent weeks in southwestern Jackson county and atleast one in Dickinson county. Jackson county authorities say those arrested implicated themselves in burglaries and thefts in Fairmont, rural Martin county, Lakefield, Windom, Round Lake and Montgomery, Iowa.

Jackson county authorities are still looking for the owner of an older 440 Scorpion snowmobile believed to have been taken in Sioux Valley Township at the same time a stereo was removed from a boat there.
