(Undated)– Several northwest Iowa communities have been awarded grants for tree-planting projects in 2005.
Alliant Energy-Interstate Power and Light announced Wednesday it’s awarding more than 200-thousand dollars in grants through “Branching Out”…a nationally recognized partnership the company has with Trees Forever.
Locally, Alta in Buena Vista county was awarded a thousand dollars; Arnolds Park will get 4,500-dollars and George will receive a thousand dollars.
They’re among 119 Iowa communities that were awarded funding this year in the program.
