(Sioux City)– A Spirit Lake woman has been charged in U-S District Court with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine within a thousand feet of the Spirit Lake High School.
44-year-old Donna Peterson has been charged with conspiracy to manufature and distribute 50 grams or more of pure meth and 500 grams or more of mixed methamphetamine, and being an unlawful user of controlled substances in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The charges against Peterson are contained in an indictment unsealed Tuesday in U-S District Court in Sioux City.
If convicted she faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in jail and a maximum sentence of life without the possibility of parole; an eight million dollar fine and atleast 10 years up to life of supervised release following any imprisonment.
Peterson appeared Tuesday in Federal Court and was released. Her next appearance is set for April 4th when a trial is scheduled.
