Noise Complaint Lands Three SL Men In Jail On Drug-Related Charges

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– A noise complaint at a Spirit Lake trailer park has landed three men in jail on drug-related charges.

Spirit Lake police say they were called Thursday evening to a complaint of noise coming from a trailer at lot 23 at A & K Trailer Court at 1502 Memphis Avenue in Spirit Lake.

Upon arriving officers detected an odor consistent with illegal drug activity. An investigation resulted in the discovery of some drug paraphernalia. Three men…all from Spirit Lake…were taken into custody.

25-year-old Tyler Harskamp was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a prescription drug; 20-year-old Michael Wood was charged with keeping a disorderly house, louspeaker devices and possession of drug paraphernalia; and 19-year-old Kenneth Myers was charged with occupying a disorderly house.

All three were booked into the Dickinson county jail.

Police then executed a search warrant on the residence shortly before 4:00 a.m. this (Friday) morning. It resulted in the seizure of several pieces of drug paraphernalia commonly used in combination with both marijuana and methamphetamine. Some illegal prescription drugs were also seized.

Authorities say their investigation continues.
