(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson county supervisors spent a portion of their meeting Tuesday hearing funding requests for the upcoming fiscal year.
The Voluntary Action Center/Retired Senior Volunteer Program is requesting the same amount as last year–2,250-dollars. The Dickinson County Fair Board came in with a request for additional money to help pay off their assessment for the Drainage District 22 project. They’re requesting a total of 44-thousand dollars from the county in the upcoming fiscal year…up from 32,400-dollars currently.
The supervisors said they’d take the requests under advisement during the budget process.
In other business, they approved the appointments of Dr. Dale Palmberg of Orleans and Lance Heikens of Lake Park to the county’s Emminent Domain Commission; and they approved a recommendation from the Sheriff to appoint deputy Don Goode as First Deputy. As a result there will now be a supervisor on duty in the Sheriff’s Office seven days a week, 24-hours a day.
