(Okoboji)– Residents throughout the region are bracing for increases in property taxes as governmental entities start putting the finishing touches on their budgets for the 2005-’06 fiscal year.
Okoboji is no exception.
City Administrator Dennis Daly says the levy for the 2005-’06 fiscal year will be at $5.11 per thousand dollars valuation…up from $4.88 per thousand currently.
Daly sites ongoing cuts from the state and increased expenditures for the need to boost the levy.
He says one of the largest expenditures the city has coming up this year is a street lighting project along Sanborn Avenue.
