(Spencer)– A local fire department has been awarded more than 100-thousand dollars in funding through the U-S Department of Homeland Security.
The Spencer Fire Department was awarded 102,433-dollars. Chief Doug Duncan says he’ll use the money to purchase a new air compressor to fill air packs; a vehicle exhaust system; standby generator; and smoke and heat detectors…all for the fire station.
Spencer was one of 10 Iowa fire departments awarded 658-thousand dollars in funding in the latest round of grants.
