(Rock Island, IL.)– An Oelwein, Iowa man wanted locally on burglary charges has been arrested by the Rock Island, County Illinois Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities there arrested 36-year-old Craig Hurst in connection with a theft from a vehicle in the quad cities area. The owner saw Hurst in the vehicle and was able to identify him to authorities.
Hurst faces numerous burglary and theft charges by Illinois and quad cities authorities. He’s being held in the Rock Island, Illinois county jail pending formal charges being filed against him there. Local officials plan to extradite Hurst once he’s been processed on the Illinois charges.
Local police issued an arrest warrant for Hurst in connection with a series of residential burglaries in Spirit Lake that took place in November of last year. He was wanted by Spirit Lake police on multiple counts of burglary and possession of stolen property.
Hurst was initially arrested by Milford Police on November 27th of last year for trespass and interference after he got into a foot pursuit with officers there. Hurst was identified as a suspect in several residential burglaries in Milford as well. He was booked into the Dickinson county jail at that time and was later released after posting bond.
