(Estherville)– The Estherville Alco store is not on a list of stores Kansas-based retailer Duckwall-ALCO Incorporated plans to close.
The company announced today (Monday) it plans to close 20 stores in the central U-S, including one in Iowa–the Duckwall’s Store in Osage.
The company says the process of shutting down the stores will begin immediately, but will take about three months to complete.
Officials say the stores being closed didn’t meet the company’s minimum return on investment threshold.
Shares of the company closed down 19 cents Friday at $18.59 on the NASDAQ Stock Market.
