(Sibley)– A Sibley man has been charged in connection with a meth lab that was found in his home earlier this week.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says it executed a search warrant Monday at 514 5th Avenue in Sibley. It turned up an active meth lab along with precursors and finished product.
The owner of the residence, 45-year-old Gary Schaeuble, was arrested.
Two children who were living in the home with Schaeuble were removed by the Department of Human Services and placed with family members.
Schaeuble has been charged with neglect of a dependent person…a class “C” felony. Multiple drug charges are pending test results from the Iowa DCI Crime Lab.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the O’Brien, Pocahontas and Lyon County Sheriff’s Offices along with the Spencer Police Department and the State Fire Marshall’s Office.
Authorities say the case remains under investigation.
