(Pocahontas)– One person was killed and two others injured in a two-vehicle accident in Pocahontas county Monday afternoon.
The State Patrol says it took place four miles north of Rolfe and two miles west of Highway 15 at the intersection of two county roads.
Authorities say vehicles driven by 24-year-old Joshua Naig of Spencer and 20-year-old Corbin Fehr of West Bend collided at the uncontrolled intersection. Both drivers were ejected from their vehicles.
A passenger in the vehicle driven by Naig, 39-year-old Kent Clark of Wamego, Kansas, was killed in the crash. Both drivers were ejected. Naig was taken to the Pocahontas hospital, then transferred to a hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Fehr was treated at the Pocahontas hospital and released.
Both vehicles were totalled.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office, Rolfe Police Department and the Pocahontas and Rolfe ambulances.
