NW Ia Regional Airport Hangar Project Awarded Federal Funding

November 22, 2014

(Washington, D.C.)– A hangar project at the Northwest Iowa Regional Airport in Spencer is getting a big financial shot-in-the-arm thanks to the federal government.

The U-S Department of Transportation announced Friday it’s awarded nearly 2.2 million dollars to five Iowa airports through the Airport Improvement Program.

The Northwest Iowa Regional Airport will receive 115,710-dollars to construct three new T-hangar stalls with larger doors to accomodate an increased demand for larger aircraft.

Grants were also awarded to airports in Decorah, Des Moines, Guthrie county and Waterloo.
