(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson county supervisors Tuesday approved the hirings of a consultant to oversee installation of a new telecommunications system in the new courthouse and another person that will oversee the county’s Information Technology Department.
Harvey DeGraw of Spirit Lake was hired as telephone system consultant at a rate of 45-dollars an hour. DeGraw worked previously at Pure Fishing where he oversaw the company’s phone system and worked in the I-T Department.
The supervisors also approved the hiring of Alissa Julias of Chicago as Information Technology Director at an annual salary of 34-thousand dollars plus benefits. Julias, a native of Orange City, begins her job May 2nd.
The supervisors also adopted a resolution setting the date for a consultation hearing on a proposal by the city of Spirit Lake to establish a Tax Increment Finance District to assist in the construction of a new facility west of the elevator for Ferguson Manufacturing. The vote was four-to-one with supervisor Mardi Allen casting the lone dissenting vote, saying she’s against the proposal. The consultation hearing with other governmental entities that would be affected is set for April 25th. The supervisors will hold a public hearing on the matter May 10th.
