(Spencer)– Spencer police are reminding area youngsters to be careful when crossing city streets.
The warning comes after a Spencer Middle School student was struck by a vehicle just after 5:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Authorities say 15-year-old Aleta Eagle was running across 1st Avenue East near the Middle School when she ran into the side of a southbound vehicle driven by Mindi Remillard of Spencer.
Eagle was taken to Spencer Hospital by family members with minor injuries. She was treated and released.
Eagle told police that her view of on-coming traffic was blocked by a north bound van, and she didn’t see Remillard’s vehicle until she was out in the street. Remillard told police the northbound van obstructed her view as well.
No charges were filed.
