(Spencer)– 15 area ladies will compete for title of Miss Clay County Fair early next month.
Seven communities in Clay county will be represented during the contest to be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1st at the Clay County Regional Events Center in Spencer.
Those vying for the crown include 17-year-old Teresa Ball of Dickens; 17-year-old Betsy Brugman of Royal; 16-year-old Abby Lou Dillard of Dickens; 19-year-old Kristen Fisher of Royal; 18-year-old Cheyenne Glienke of Greenville; 18-year-old Megan Hess of Spencer; 18-year-old Kimberly Jessen of Everly; 17-year-old Kaylene Kollasch of Spencer; 16-year-old Amber Mortenson of Spencer; 17-year-old Elizabeth Buchan of Spencer; 17-year-old Jenah Muhlbauer of Royal; 17-year-old Emily Rasmussen of Spencer; 16-year-old Tawny Smith of Gillett Grove; 16-year-old Courtney Smith of Webb and 17-year-old Amy Uecker of Spencer.
The ladies will be judged on personality, attitude, leadership, contribution to the community, overall appearance, charm, poise and self expression.
The 2005 Miss Clay County Fair Queen will receive a thousand dollars along with numerous gifts. The first-runner-up will receive five hundred dollars; and each contestant will receive a five hundred scholarship to Iowa Lakes Community College.
The winner will reign over the Clay County Fair September 10th through the 18th and will compete for the title of State Fair Queen in Des Moines.
