(Spirit Lake)– State Parks Bureau staff of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources will hold a follow-up meeting Tuesday, May 3rd to hear comments on plans for a proposed pedestrian access from East Okoboji Beach to Elinor Bedell State Park.
Residents of the East Okoboji Beach area petitioned the DNR last year to consider development of an old driveway near the intersection of 162nd Street and 256th Avenue for a pedestrian access to the south side of the state park. It was felt the access would help alleviate problems with residents of East Okoboji Beach who wish to access the park needing to go onto County Road M-56 or cross private property to enter the park.
The May 3rd meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the Spirit Lake Public Library.
